Our Services

  • Cognitive Strengths and Weaknesses

We assess cognitive strengths and weaknesses as they relate to decision-making capacity, as well as occupational, academic, and daily functioning.

Cognitive strengths are the mental abilities a person performs well in, such as good memory, problem-solving skills, or attention to detail. Cognitive weaknesses are areas where a person may struggle, like difficulty with concentration, slower processing speed, or challenges in understanding language. In neuropsychology, identifying these strengths and weaknesses helps clinicians understand how the brain is functioning and guides personalized care and treatment plans.

  • Cognitive Disorders

Dementia (e.g., Alzheimer’s disease; Lewy Body Dementia)

Acquired brain injuries (e.g., traumatic brain injury; brain tumors; electrocutions; neurotoxicity)

Cerebrovascular disease (e.g., stroke; damage due to other medical conditions, such as diabetes)

    Epilepsy/Seizure Disorders

    Movement disorders (e.g., Parkinson’s disease; Huntington’s disease)

    Autoimmune diseases (e.g., multiple sclerosis)

  • Independent Medical Evaluations

Independent medical evaluations (IMEs) in neuropsychology provide objective assessments of cognitive, emotional, and behavioral functioning. These evaluations are conducted by qualified neuropsychologists who are not involved in the patient’s treatment to ensure impartiality. IMEs play a critical role in legal cases, disability claims, and return-to-work decisions by offering detailed, evidence-based reports that clarify diagnosis, functional abilities, and prognosis. At Prompt Neuropsych Solutions, our IMEs prioritize accuracy and thoroughness to support informed clinical and legal decision-making.

  • NFL Evaluations

Neuropsychology plays a critical role in the NFL's Baseline Assessment Program (BAP) evaluation by providing comprehensive cognitive testing aimed at detecting subtle changes in brain function resulting from head impacts. These evaluations assess memory, attention, processing speed, and executive functioning to establish an athlete’s cognitive baseline before the season begins. In the event of a suspected concussion, post-injury testing can be compared to the baseline scores to determine the extent of cognitive impairment and guide return-to-play decisions. By utilizing evidence-based neuropsychological methods, the NFL BAP aims to enhance player safety, minimize long-term neurological risks, and support personalized medical care tailored to each individual.

  • Cognitive Functioning

We evaluate cognitive functioning for rehabilitation planning.

Cognitive functioning refers to the mental processes that enable individuals to acquire knowledge and understanding through thought, experience, and the senses. These processes include attention, memory, language comprehension, problem-solving, reasoning, and decision-making. Effective cognitive functioning allows a person to process information, learn new skills, adapt to changes, and carry out daily activities. Impairments in cognitive functioning can result from various factors such as brain injury, neurological disorders, or psychological conditions, and may affect an individual’s ability to perform everyday tasks independently. Neuropsychological evaluations assess these cognitive domains to provide personalized care and support.

  • Presurgical Workups

Presurgical workups for possible neurosurgical procedures (e.g., DBS, Epilepsy).

Presurgical workup in neuropsychology involves a series of tests and evaluations done before brain surgery. The goal is to understand how a person’s brain functions, especially areas related to thinking, memory, language, and emotions. This helps doctors determine which parts of the brain are safe to operate on and which areas to avoid to reduce risks of problems after surgery. The process often includes cognitive tests, interviews, and sometimes brain imaging. The information gathered guides the surgical team in planning a safer and more effective treatment.

  • Cognitive Screenings

Cognitive screenings to establish a baseline for future comparison

Cognitive screenings provide a quick and efficient way to assess memory, attention, language, and other cognitive functions. They help identify early signs of cognitive decline or neurological conditions, allowing for timely intervention. These screenings support personalized care planning and monitoring of cognitive health over time. Early detection through cognitive screenings can improve treatment outcomes and enhance overall health and wellness.

At Prompt Neuropsych Solutions, we’ve reimagined how neuropsychological care is delivered—and how it’s paid for.

We believe the traditional insurance model is broken. It often delays care, denies coverage without reason, and leaves patients confused and frustrated. That’s why we’ve chosen a direct-pay approach: no middlemen, no surprise bills, and no compromises on quality.

Payment & Pricing

Our Pricing

Our evaluations range from $1,250 to $2,500, depending on the complexity of the referral question and the scope of testing required. This includes:

🧠 A tailored neuropsychological assessment

📄 A detailed report with practical, personalized recommendations

💬 Direct communication with your provider throughout the process

We’ll confirm your exact fee before booking, so there are no surprises.

Booking and Payment Policy

To reserve your appointment, a $100 deposit is required at the time of booking. This deposit is non-refundable and will be retained as a no-show fee if the appointment is missed or canceled without adequate notice.

The remaining balance is due no later than the day before your scheduled appointment. We accept payment via credit card, debit card, or HSA/FSA accounts.

Insurance & Reimbursement

While we do not bill insurance directly, we can provide a superbill upon request. You may submit this to your insurance provider for potential out-of-network reimbursement.

  • We believe expert answers shouldn’t come with unnecessary delays or red tape. Our private-pay model allows us to provide:

    • Personalized Attention — Longer appointments, deeper analysis, and a custom-tailored report — not a one-size-fits-all approach.

    • Faster Access to Care — No waiting months for insurance pre-approvals or coverage decisions.

    • Transparent, All-Inclusive Pricing — One flat fee covers everything: consultation, testing, report, and follow-up. No surprise bills. No mystery codes.

    • Insurance-Friendly Documentation — We provide a superbill so you can submit for potential out-of-network reimbursement.

By opting out of insurance constraints, we’re able to focus on what really matters: your mind, your questions, and your future.

  • Our all-inclusive $1,250 - $2,500 fee begins well below national average for comprehensive adult neuropsychological evaluations, which typically range from $2,000 to $4,000. We provide a detailed report, feedback session, and superbill for reimbursement — with no surprise fees or insurance delays. Please contact us for a price for your specific needs.

  • Neuropsychological testing is a specialized assessment that evaluates cognitive functions, including memory, attention, problem-solving, and language skills. It helps identify strengths and weaknesses in cognitive abilities related to brain function

  • Individuals who may benefit from neuropsychological testing include those experiencing cognitive difficulties, changes in memory, attention issues, brain injuries, neurological disorders, or mental health concerns. Testing can also be helpful for educational purposes.

  • A typical evaluation involves an interview, a review of medical and educational history, and the administration of standardized tests. Sessions usually last between 2 to 6 hours, depending on the complexity of the assessment.

  • Dr. Highsmith will discuss initial results with you on the day of testing. Full results are typically provided within 1-7 days following the evaluation. A comprehensive report will be prepared and discussed, either on the phone or in a follow-up appointment based on your desired type of follow-up.

  • The tests are designed to measure various cognitive abilities and are not meant to be difficult in the traditional sense. They are structured to assess how well you perform on different tasks.

  • We do not directly bill insurance. Your ability to get insurance coverage can vary depending on your specific plan. It is advisable to check with your insurance company to determine coverage details for neuropsychological testing and if you can get reimbursement if you decide to get your care here. Please see payment info here.

  • Preparing for a neuropsychological evaluation typically involves ensuring you are well-rested and bringing any necessary documentation, such as prior medical records and a list of current medications.

  • Yes, you can bring a family member or friend with you to the appointment. Their support can be helpful during the evaluation and discussion of results. When testing, you will be one on one with the examiner.

  • After the testing is completed, results will be analyzed and interpreted. A follow-up appointment can be scheduled to discuss findings, recommendations, and any further steps, if necessary.

  • At Prompt Neuropsych Solutions, we only see adults (18+) and possibly older teens (16-17) based on maturity and reason for the evaluation.
